From a baker’s hands emerge the telltale hearts of pastry, crumbling strata that melt or hang on lips and invite a darling’s dusting. In the hands of a baker, flour and butter are transformed from the mundane into the magical, 99 percent inspiration and one percent angels’ breath in the heat of the oven. Pie is not hard. Sift your flour and see how simple it is!

In Part Two on Sunday, the class will work through the bread-making process under Gail’s watchful and well-practiced eye to achieve the best possible end result.

These marvellous parcels can be stuffed with anything and everything, and in this class, they are. Rediscover pierogies and the pure pleasure of building them from scratch. Class Description:
Riesling can be made into a beautifully diverse selection of styles, each reflecting their terroir, vintage, and the guiding hand of the winemaker. Affectionately referred to as 'the altruistic foster parent' of the food and wine pairing world, examples sing when paired with classic German fare, crispy roast pork, summer vegetables, and of course, Southeast Asian food. 

The exotic spice and heat of the food coming from Southeast Asia requires a wine that has fruit, acidity, and often a little kiss of sweetness to help offset the chili heat. Join Sarah and Al as they explore the sour, salty, spicy, herbal nuances of Southeast Asian food, and pairs Riesling to go along with it.
