Farming for the Future: A Specialty Dinner

Hosts:
Sarah Boucher, chef, partner at Metrovino and Al Drinkle, partner at Metrovino

Class Type: Specialty Dinner
Price: $185 per person
Availability: Available

Class Description:
Before you read further, please note that this specialty dinner will feature the cooking of Sarah Boucher (of Piglet, Metrovino, and Cookbook Co. fame), paired with wines selected and presented by Al Drinkle (Metrovino's resident recluse and human Riesling solera)... it's going to be extremely delicious and only slightly less entertaining

The evening itself will be a celebration of farmers—of both food and wine—who have dedicated themselves to thoughtful and holistic approaches to their trade, in turn influencing us to reconsider our relationship with food and drink. "Sustainable" is possibly the most abused word in the agricultural industry, and yet abiding by the intrinsic meaning of the term might help ensure the availability of healthful ingredients for the eaters and drinkers of tomorrow.

Join Sarah and Al for a delectable five-course meal, along with "from the field" anecdotes, that honour the tenets of these farming heroes.

Not Your Grandma's Sherry: A Specialty Dinner

Not Your Grandma's Sherry: A Specialty Dinner

Instructor:
Sarah Boucher, chef, culinary instructor, and sherry lover

Class Type: Specialty Dinner
Price: $185 per person
Availability: Available

Class Description:
Sherry is Spain’s greatest wine, and food’s best friend. Above all else, one should embrace it at the table while foregoing the erroneous notion that all white wine is supposed to be pert, fresh and redolent of grapefruit or green apple. When a drinker abides their innate human love of savoury flavours, the glycerolic and umami-driven charm of sherry will benignly haunt them for the rest of their lives.

There’s really two kinds of people on this planet—those who love sherry, and those who don’t yet know that they love sherry. This dinner will appeal to both types, although the latter would be particularly well-served by attending.

Respectfully, we cannot accommodate guests with allergies or dietary restrictions at this event.

Please note this is a sit-down dinner, as opposed to a hands-on cooking class.
